About Marine Discoveries.

Our oceans cover 70% of the earth’s surface and are the most poorly understood ecosystems on the planet. This massive natural resource is also under constant pressures from our modern society.

Complex issues, such as global climate change, coral bleaching, cyclones, Crown of Thorns Sea Stars, and many more highlight the need to monitor and understand Great Barrier Reef on a much deeper level.

About Marine Discoveries

The Challenge & Our Mission

Marine Discoveries is dedicated to increasing understanding and knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef through research, training, and consulting. Our team has a long history of working on the reef and with their diverse knowledge, experience, and expertise, they are perfectly suited to the challenges that face us. Through our work and contribution, Marine Discoveries is committed to ensuring the reef has the best possible future.

The most efficient way of doing this is through partnerships with all agencies from industry through to management and these partnerships ensure our research to be effective. Our own research aligns with existing projects on the Great Barrier Reef so that it feeds back into the management of the marine park.

Through our training programs we are also proud to be teaching and inspiring the next generation of marine biologists, and conservationists as well as working in the consulting field with reef professionals on site stewardship programs.
